Dear AED Members,
We hope that all of you have gotten off to a good start in your studies. As we get settled down for the academic year, AED will begin holding monthly general meetings to discuss upcoming professional and service events. We also hope that these meetings will allow AED members to get to know each other better. We are requiring that ALL of our members attend at least 3 such meetings throughout the year.
Our first general meeting will be held on October 12th at 8:00 PM in CAS Room 323B. We expect all members to attend. In the event that you cannot attend, please contact the E-board to let us know.
During the first meeting the E-board will inform you about upcoming events and also take suggestions for future events. (Oh, there will also be free pizza at the meeting!)
Welcome Back!
We at Boston University are the Massachusetts Gamma Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Delta, the national health pre-professional honor society. We bring together students in the pre-medial, pre-dental, and pre-veterinary tracks for professional development and community service work involving health outreach. This year, we hope to increase our level of involvement among members by promoting more opportunities to get involved with AED as well as with the community around us. Currently, we have a great volunteering opportunity with The Greater Boston Food Bank, where our group will be able to sign up once a month to go serve food and help provide health care information to those in need. We are planning to have monthly meetings to keep everyone on the same page and to update everyone on the other exciting events coming up this year. We are looking forward to our group coming more closely together this year not only to prepare ourselves for furthering our health education, but also to make a positive impact at our school and community.
